Ahoy Mateys!

I am not fortunate enough to stitch this along with all of you because I just had to stitch mine soon after I got the kit, but thanks to Loraine and Terri, I've been made an honorary member. Just to get everyone jazzed up about this piece, I thought I'd post mine to get you all started. I just picked it up from framing last week.

(frame and suede matt done at Joanne's)

I had so much fun stitching this, that I'm jealous of each one of you to be stitching it now. You're going to love it when it's done. I look forward to seeing everyone post their progress pictures. Enjoy the sail - it's going to be a fun one!!!

  1. Great job Deb!! Thanks for sharing your finished and framed work of art. We are all artists, even though someone else designed the pattern, as we stitch one by one to create the desired finish. Everyone stitches differently, some make mistakes, some change thread colors, etc. I love to leave my "mark" (initials) and the year I stitched it in on all my creations, that way the future generations will know it was "me", who diligently stitched something that can be passed down from generation to generation with pride. The results of our labor of love becomes our "individual" piece of artwork. It brings a smile to my face and a sense of accomplishment to behold such beauty,it makes it all worth while. You should be "beaming" with pride Deb!

  5. Deb - your Sail Away is so awesome - I LOVE your frame choice and the suede mat is lovely - I use suede mats on a lot of those Mirabilia pieces my dad stitches - such an elegant addition to a lovely piece. I know you will enjoy it for many years - thanks for being our guiding star! Mel
